Improve your spatial awareness
Flying an aircraft requires a lot of spatial awareness. You will need to be aware of your position in the sky, the orientation of your aircraft and the effect that different control inputs are having on your plane. Don't panic! Your instructor will be right by your side to ensure that you have the time and space to develop these skills so you can clearly map out where you are in the sky and where you want to be. Improve your co-ordination
Flying involves a lot of coordination. For example, you will need to coordinate the movement of your feet on the rudder pedals with the movement of your hand on the yoke or stick which controls the ailerons on each wing. As you progress through the course, you may find that you hand-eye coordination increases as you learn to master the skills to guide the aircraft gracefully through the air.

If learning to fly is anything, it is fun. While sitting on a commercial airliner for hours on end can feel like a bit of a drag, zipping around the skies in a light aircraft can create a real buzz. You will have the opportunity to enjoy controlling a plane and seeing it respond to your inputs on the control column.
